In line with the Philippine Armyโs continuing efforts to strengthen peace and security in Zamboanga Sibugay, the 106th Infantry (TIGPANALIPOD) Battalion successfully facilitated a firearms surrender on January 06, 2025 at the Labatan Patrol Base, Brgy. Labatan, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The activity was supervised by LTC JANALODEN M SANGGACALA (INF) PA, Executive Officer, together with CPT KARL DAVID B LOZARDO (INF) PA, Alpha Company Commander, in close coordination with barangay officials led by Hon. Nurhima S. Badol, Barangay Chairwoman of Labatan, and Cpl Nurman T Maradi (Inf) PA, Patrol Base Commander.
The firearms surrender is part of the Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) Management Program under the Localizing Normalization Implementation (LNI) Program of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), underscoring the governmentโs whole-of-nation approach toward peace, security, and community development.
The 106IB remains steadfast in its commitment to protect the people and support peace-building initiatives, encouraging the communityโs continued cooperation in maintaining a safe, peaceful, and secure Zamboanga Sibugay.
